Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting 2024

Some of my notes from the berkshire hathaway meeting (only live)

  • re-read poor poor charlie's almanack several times more and the concepts will be better engrained in your brain, you will realise that they arent that complicated they just need some time to think about
  • be aware what human nature does to you amd others
  • if you read what charlie told you you will have a big headstart
  • Charlie knew the importance of human incentives and psychology
  • You can get really rich knowing the weaknesses of others and then recognising them at the right time when they occur and know them better than other persons
  • Warren on Charlie "He lived how he wanted to. He got to say what he wanted to say" he peaked at 99 which he has never see in any person
  • Both where often asked with whom they would have lunch dead or alive if they could pick anyone, but Charlie had already met all of them through reading Biographies and studying their lives. "Make friends with the eminent dead"
  • "If you don't live a life where you surround yourself — and limit yourself — to people you trust, it won't be much fun."
  • "The opportunity in this country is basically limitless." We're all lucky to be born when — and where — we were. "You're entering the best world that ever existed. You want to find the right people to share it with."
  • "We only swing at pitches we like,"Buffett says in response to a question about the $182 million cash pile. "Things aren't attractive. There are certain ways that can change — and we'll see if they do."
  • "You can say that my great skill is avoiding bad luck." That being said, Buffett adds that everyone should make the most of their luck. He jokes that nobody would have ever expected him to live to 93 with his eating habits.
  • "Everybody who says he did it all by himself is just kidding, they are delusional
  • 'If you're lucky in life, make sure a bunch of other people are lucky too'
  • I did not make to many notes, i just wanted to enjoy the meeting

    Thanks
